On 12th March, a summary meeting was held at Dongfang Electric (Guangzhou) Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. to certify the successful R&D of China-Made International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) cladding shield module , which is the most complex and difficult in terms of its structure and manufacture process among 220 pieces of full-size prototypes. The ITER Implementation Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and the representatives of the Southwestern Institute of Physics of the Nuclear Industry jointly witnessed the manufacture and testing process. This marks that DEC has successfully completed its research and development task, overcame the manufacturing difficulties of critical shielding and heat production equipment.Standing in the forefront of the world in this field, DEC shows the world a new image of China's nuclear power manufacturing.
